Why I developed this course, by Barbara Winter
For years I naively assumed that people who came to be regarded as experts had that honour conferred upon them by the public or Harvard or mystical decree. It wasn't until I started my first business, a personal growth training company, that I began to wonder how people achieved expert status. More importantly, I wondered, was my own journey of self-discovery grounds for becoming an expert?
So I began studying how others had established themselves as experts, and I realized I could adopt their tools and techniques for myself. Before long, I was being interviewed by the media, being invited to give talks and workshops and having articles published. Several years later, I gathered what I'd learned into a seminar and began teaching these things to others. The tools and techniques in the Establish Yourself as an Expert e-course are the ones I continue to use myself and have seen others use with great success, too.
